Year 8 – Reading Book

Each year, a really interesting fiction book is selected for Year 8 to read. This year’s book is: ‘I have no secrets’ by Penny Joelson. The book was selected by Mrs Annetts and Mr Giblin from the GDST Book Award shortlist. It is a gripping thriller and is already proving a popular choice with Year 8 (and other Year groups). Year 8 will be blogging about this book on the Library Firefly pages.

The story is about fourteen-year-old Jemma who has severe cerebral palsy. Unable to communicate or move, she relies on her family and carer for everything. She has a sharp brain and inquisitive nature, and knows all sorts of things about everyone. But when she is confronted with this terrible secret, she is utterly powerless to do anything. Though that might be about to change…
