Year 4 Residential Trip to Woodrow High House

Year 4 embarked on their first NWC residential for  two nights, at Woodrow High House. There was an excited buzz of anticipation as the girls eagerly waited to board the coach with their self-packed suitcases. After arriving at Woodrow, the girls familiarised themselves with the superb Woodrow grounds, led by the Woodrow Staff. The girls were briefed by the NWC staff about the three ‘thinking habits’ that they were able to develop during the stay at Woodrow: persisting, being brave and being resilient.

Over the three days, they took part in a range of skill developing activities such as: high ropes, bushcraft, nightline and challenge course. During the Monday evening, they were entertained with an amusing ‘Manor Mysteries’ within which the girls had to guess which character could have committed a terrible crime: Hazel Nut, Cliff Hanger, Neil down, Carol Singer and Gail Storm . All characters were acted enthusiastically and dramatically by the NWC staff. On the Tuesday evening, the girls were treated to a campfire with toasted marshmallows, singing led by Mr Webster and camp fire games.

During the visit, they were awarded prizes for demonstrating the three thinking habits and it was a pleasure to see such a drive from all the girls to develop these thinking habits. Well done girls!

Finally, a huge thanks must be given to the NWC staff who attended and helped to make the trip so memorable and enjoyable for all the girls. Thank you Mrs Vitale, Mr Webster, Miss Willis and Mrs Hamilton.
