Year 3 Trip to Uxbridge

Year 3 enjoyed visiting St Margaret’s Church and learning about baptism and the history of the church building. The Reverend Andy Thompson met with the girls and explained what baptism means in the Christian religion. He also told them about the history of the church. St Margaret’s Church is over 800 years old and is the oldest building in the town. The beautiful stained glass windows, Andy explained, were used to tell the story of Jesus to people who were not able to read. The girls made stained glass windows and looked around the church building identifying different features. They were surprised to see that five dragons were hidden in the art work. The trip was made even more exciting by travelling to and from Uxbridge on the train.Mrs. Amin
