Year 12 trip to Amersham Field Centre
On Friday 13th March Year 12 geographers were able to visit Amersham Field Centre as part of their work on the Water and Carbon Cycle topic. They worked effectively together to follow the ‘enquiry approach’ and collect data for three mini-investigations
- Storm Hydrograph investigation
- Woodland Infiltration and Interception Investigation
- Carbon sequestration in trees investigation.
The experience has broadened their knowledge, understanding and skills associated with fieldwork in a physical environment. In our follow-up work, the students will reflect on different options to study as part of their own Independent Investigations (NEAs) which they start planning in the coming weeks.
