Trip to Bekonscot Model Village!

Year 1 visited Bekonscot Model Village on Thursday 27 September. We had a wonderful day, we explored so many different models! We learnt about times in the past to fit in with our topic on ‘Changes in Living Memory’. The workshop was inspiring and the girls loved dressing up as if they were in a freezing plane or a car without signals from 90 years ago! We saw bi-planes, thatched houses, old fire engines, steam trains, sailing boats and even a windmill. We noticed the stained glass window in a church, the fantastic fairground, the hospital, the castle with the arrow slits, the Punch and Judy show on the beach, the lighthouses, the cable cars, the barges being pulled by horses, the games of cricket or rugby being played, the zoo … we had a wonderful time! Our thanks go to all the parents who accompanied us on such a super school trip.
