The Great Science Share

The girls in Years 1 to 4 showed much enthusiasm in working like real scientists during our Great Science Share event last week. This was part of an international initiative for pupils to ask a scientific question and then follow a line of inquiry to answer their question such as ‘Does the type of liquid affect how fast an ice cube melts? Girls prepared their investigations at home by selecting whether they would need to conduct a fair test, an observation, some research, seek a pattern or sort objects by a chosen criterion to be able to answer their question. They then shared their questions with each other, carefully explaining their investigations.

There was a real ‘buzz’ around the school during this event and the effort made by all the girls was just outstanding. Thank you to all the girls, parents and staff for being part of such a worthwhile event. We will definitely hold another Great Science Share event next year.
