The British Senior National Table Tennis Championship Finals

Mia (Y9) was one of only three girls in her under 15 cadet age group that got through the recent qualification event out of a pool of 39 cadet, junior and senior players. This meant that on the 24th-26th March, Mia played at The British Senior National Table Tennis Championship Finals.

Mia qualified from her group and made it into the last 16 which were played on the Sunday. Mia was drawn against the England number 1 Tin-Tin Ho, an England International who took part in the Tokyo Olympics and is a 5 time national winner.

Mia played well after starting a little nervously, she hit some crunching backhands against Tin Tin with a couple of fairly close sets. But of course Tin Tin is very experienced and talented so she did win the match 4-0 in the end.

It was a fantastic experience for Mia and something she’ll never forget. After all, it’s not everyday that younger players get to compete against Olympians!

Well done Mia.
