Model United Nations Conference

Recently, we took a team of 16 students from Year 9 – Year 13, to HABS MUN (Model United Nations) 2023 Conference from Friday night after school right through to Sunday afternoon.

We represented Brazil, Micronesia and Pakistan. The team all worked incredibly hard to prepare their research and resolutions before the conference. They were incredible ambassadors for the schools; brave and challenging delegates who were fully engaged.

The resolutions included many challenging topics; the question of Kashmir, the question of the COVID Pandemic, the question of the treatment of Women in Afghanistan, the question of the Ethical Responsibility of Corporations, and the Question of the Invasion of Ukraine were just some of the difficult subjects in debate over the weekend.

The team were in 9 different UN committees ranging from The Crisis Committee to Health and Disarmament.

All of our team performed extremely well and we won Best Delegate in DISEC – Charlotte, and had high commendations for our delegates in SOCHUM – Madunaya and Armita.

Exciting, challenging and lots of fun.
