Meet Our New 2023/24 ESLT Members

We asked our new ESLT members ‘what’s your favourite lineof our Northwood College Mission Statement?’keep reading to find out their answers!

Miss Chadburn, Associate Assistant Head

We challenge ourselves and build resilience.

This is one of my favourite lines from our mission statement because I am a strong advocate for embracing challenges, whilst accepting the prospect of failure and acknowledging the benefits of what we can learn if we do fail. Being ambitious should be encouraged and at Northwood College we want our students to have high expectations of themselves and others, so that we can foster joy through a love of learning, where challenges are overcome with curiosity, courage and resilience.

Mr Giblin, Associate Assistant HeadWe believe that success and purpose stem from feeling valuedand creating impact. As educators our job is not to cram student’s heads full of facts. Our duty as a school is help them realise that they matter and what they do matters. We don’t know what issues our society might face in the future, but what we do know is that after their time with us, girls from Northwood College will go out, do amazing things and become leaders who can change the world around them.

Mrs Parkes, Associate Assistant HeadWe ignite intellectual curiosity.

I have always encouraged my students to develop a spark of academic interest in all their subjects. As Associate Assistant Head, I am excited by the prospect of working with students across the school to challenge their ways of thinking and to broaden their intellectual horizons. Students at Northwoodbecome lifelong learners thanks to the passion of our teacherswho inspire our students to stretch themselves every day.
