La Maison Hantée

On Tuesday 7 March, girls who study French were treated to a superb and hilarious French play called ‘La Maison Hantée’ (The Haunted House).

Antoine and Zoé find shelter from the rain in an old house in the woods. The house creeps them out, but just as they are about to leave, a policeman arrives. He tells them to stay in the house and lock the doors because there is an escaped prisoner on the run in the area. The two friends try to stay calm but become increasingly uneasy when strange things start to happen.

This play was performed by two native french actors. The spoken French was delivered slowly and clearly which meant we were all able to follow the story, which boosted confidence. The play was delivered in a humorous and exaggerated manner, making us empathise with the characters.
