Floyd Steadman OBE

Floyd Steadman OBE has been recognised for his efforts towards rugby union, education and charity, and tells his story of prevailing with integrity throughout his life in his book ‘A Week One Summer’.

Following his successful career in rugby, as Captain of the Saracens, Steadman turned to education and  became a headmaster.

Floyd started his day with a talk to Year 5 & 6, followed by lunch with Dr Shola Apena Rogers and Ms Aisha Sanusi from the African Caribbean Education Network, Mrs Brown, and Mrs Halliday. Floyd’s visit culminated in his talk to Year 9.

Key themes of the day included the importance of integrity and fighting through adversity.

Kate Haywood OLY

Pupils across the school were treated to talks from Kate Haywood – the Double Olympian!

Kate competed for Great Britain in the Olympics, FINA World Championships, and the European  championships, as well as representing England at the Commonwealth Games.

From discussing managing time & balancing commitments, to the importance of diet, nutrition & psychology for performance. There was even a session where Kate gave swimming hints and tips – this was thoroughly enjoyed by Siana who learnt breast stroke technique from Kate!

Catriona Bradley

Last week, we welcomed NWC alumna, Catriona Bradley into school.
Catriona studied at NWC before going on to read Biology at the
University of Kent. Whilst completing her degree,
she realised her true passion was costume making.

Catriona then studied at, and subsequently worked with, RADA when she became a costume producer for the full Netflix series of Bridgerton!

Thank you Catriona for your inspiring, emotional, and exciting talk!
