Year 9 Physics Models

Year 9 students were given the challenge of creating a model power station.

Students had to research different types of power station, the components involved in each station, the advantages and disadvantages of each station and determine whether their chosen power station relied on a renewable or non-renewable energy resource.

The students were incredibly creative and produced power stations out of many different mediums with some stations including actual transformers, lights and solar panels.

In class, students showcased their models and were given the opportunity to share their knowledge with one another.

Creating the model power stations gave students a brilliant opportunity to bring their creativity and design thinking into their physics lessons.
