Stone Age Experience for Year 3

Earlier this term Year 3 were amazed to find a strange tent on the school field which had appeared overnight. Even more mysterious were the two Stone Age people who welcomed them into the tent to find out more about life during the Stone Age.

Twig and Scuff told the girls about the difficulties they faced and how nomadic tribes moved around hunting for food. The girls watched Twig create fire from rubbing two stones together and watched a fish being prepared and cooked, whilst listening to music from a bone flute.

Using flints and bone tools, the students carried out Stone Age jobs. Scuff even joined us for lunch, although we had to show her how to use a knife and fork!
