Sixth Form engage in Positive Wellbeing

Year 12 have been preparing for mental health week through engaging with “Positive”, a GDST wide wellbeing initiative to improve and maintain students’ psychological health and performance. The girls have learned about the role of neuroplasticity in creating more positive thoughts and pathways to lift themselves when times are more challenging.

It was encouraging to see the girls using a variety of the skills including the “worry filter”, the “inner coach”  and the “positive pin board”. Creating positive pathways is about learning how to become more resilient, so it was encouraging to see how open the girls were in sharing their past mistakes and how they are learning from them. We have created a colourful rainbow to portray this and to reinforce the message that it’s OK to make mistakes.
