Silver Tassie – winners 2019 Northwood College

The Silver Tassie is a golf competition played annually in June at The Berkshire Golf Club. It is open to all independent girls schools with teams of four playing 4BBB in pairs (one pair playing  the Blue Course and one pair playing the Red Course). All team players must be old girls of independent schools like Northwood College.

The scores of the two pairs are added together to give an overall school score.

It is a wonderful day out for the golfers. Cost is £85 per player which includes bacon roll and tea/coffee on arrival, 18 holes of golf on either course followed by a wonderful 2 course rolling buffet lunch (their food is fabulous) with the prize giving as soon as everyone has finished and the scores checked.

If anyone is interested to play, schools can enter more than one team (Millfield have often entered two teams) I am happy for them to contact me so I can give more details. I have played for 6 years now but won’t be there forever so it would be lovely if some younger alumni were to play.

There is a website for anyone who wants to know a bit more about the cup and its history. Go to (It used to be a 27 hole foursomes medal competition but this was changed in recent years to a stableford format as numbers dwindled, to try and encourage more entries.)
