Geography Field Trip

Year 12 Geographers enjoyed a walking tour of Harrow with Mrs Spicer to identify its changing character over time. The team analysed clues in the built environment ranging from the changing use of buildings such as the Safari cinema, the physical movement of Harrow station 150m along the track, the regeneration of old industrial areas into St.Anne’s shopping centre and how semi-detached Victorian housing has become multiple occupancy flats.

Asking some excellent questions along the tour, the girls conducted fieldwork surveys to gain an in depth understanding of a place’s character. It was a real pleasure to teach the girls and enjoy geography again outside of the classroom.
