French Cinema Evening at NWC

On a wet, windy and dark evening in late November what better way to beat the winter blues than spending a couple of hours enjoying an award-winning French film while sipping some chocolat chaud and snacking on some tasty brioches.

This is exactly what our Years 10 and 11 French students did last Monday after school, when we enjoyed the charmingly acted and moving, Le Hérisson (the Hedgehog). The Hedgehog is a story of an unexpected encounter between a tormented 11-year girl, Paloma and other kindred spirits, a solitary concierge and an enigmatic and elegant neighbour Mr Ozu. The film was captivating because the characters are full of humanity.

This was our second French Cinema evening and we hope to host another in the near future.
