Dr Emma Bielecki – Modern Languages Talk

On Wednesday 4 December at lunchtime, we were delighted to welcome to Northwood College, Dr Emma Bielecki, from the French Department at King’s College, London. The Conservatory was filled with Upper School girls and our Sixth Form linguists and our guests from Northwood High School as we all listened intently to Dr Bielecki extol the virtues of studying languages. We were treated to a highly interesting talk based on some of Dr Bielecki’s research.

Dr Bielecki also explained that Language Graduates are amongst the most employable and some of her former graduates have been employed by PriceWaterhouse Coopers, Barclays Bank and many City law firms.

I am most grateful to Dr Bielecki for taking time out of her busy schedule to give us a flavour of studying languages at university. She is now looking forward to their applications to read Languages at King’s!
