CELEBRATING OUR BEST-EVER A LEVEL RESULTS!!!

Ambition, curiosity, hard work and determination have paid off for our Year 13 Class of 2026 students who celebrate 90% A*-B grades, 60% A*-A grades and 96% A*-C grades!!

Head, Rebecca Brown, said: “Today we celebrate our best-ever A Level results and I could not be happier! I am immensely proud of each student and the individual journey that has brought her to this moment. Every student really matters to us at Northwood and these outcomes are a true testament to the hard work, grit and ambition of our brilliant young women, matched by the expertise and unparalleled commitment of our dedicated teaching staff. These outstanding achievements represent much more than academic attainment; they reflect the confidence, resilience and love of learning our girls develop throughout their time at Northwood.”

At the heart of Northwood College’s success is a teaching team passionate about girls’ education. Innovative and inspiring educators spark intellectual curiosity, encourage independent thought and challenge every student to discover what she is capable of achieving. Mrs Brown added: “We have exceptionally high expectations for ourselves and for all our girls. That is why we were particularly proud to announce last term that Northwood had been shortlisted for a prestigious TES Award and commended by the Independent Schools of the Year Awards.”

Having immersed themselves in their subjects while motivating and championing one another along the way, Northwood College students have been rewarded for their tenacity today with achievements including 100% of English Literature grades awarded at A, 83% of Geography grades at A*/A, and 75% of Further Maths grades at A*/A.

Northwood’s Science Department also had plenty to celebrate, with 85% of Biology grades, 83% of Sociology grades, and 86% of both Chemistry and Psychology grades achieving A*-B.

Mrs Brown commented: “I am particularly delighted to see our science subjects excel. STEM disciplines equip young women with a valuable range of skills that can be applied across an increasingly diverse range of academic and professional pathways. Critical thinking, research, analysis and problem-solving are all essential aptitudes for the future workplace and for effective leadership. These results reflect the expertise and commitment of our Science Department, alongside the intellectual curiosity and perseverance of our girls.”

The creative arts also enjoyed a standout year with 100% of A Level Art & Design (Textiles) grades awarded at A*/A. 

For Year 13, today marks not an ending, but the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Students have secured places at leading universities including the University of Warwick, King’s College London, the University of Nottingham, the University of Birmingham and the University of Leeds, where they will pursue a wonderfully diverse range of subjects, from Politics to Dentistry and Pharmacy to Architecture.

“Our Year 13 students have worked consistently hard throughout their school careers and can now look forward to taking their well-deserved places at leading universities. They have so much to look forward to, and I know they will embrace the opportunities that lie ahead with confidence and purpose. When a girl leaves Northwood, she is ready to take her place in a world that she sees as full of opportunity. Highly qualified and equipped with the confidence, skills and strong values to excel, Northwood girls are happy and ambitious young women set to reshape the world. We could not be prouder of them.”

Anjum (A*A*A*A*) will study Mathematics at UCL and said: “I feel fantastic and am very excited. I would like to thank all my brilliant teachers and Northwood College as a whole as I have been here since Year 7. I am not sure what I am going to do in the long run yet but I am looking forward to studying maths at UCL.”

Anjum’s mum added: “I am so proud of Anjum. Thank you Northwood College and all the teachers for their support and helping to produce such a well-rounded young adult.”

Hajara (A*A*A*) will study Chemistry at King’s College London and said: “I’m feeling so good after seeing my results today and I am really grateful to all my teachers at Northwood College.”

Hajara’s mum added: “I am feeling quite overwhelmed, but really happy too. I’m pleased all Hajara’s hard work has paid off and I am so grateful to everyone at Northwood College for helping her achieve this success.”

Tiyana (A*AA) will study Pharmacy at Birmingham University and commented: “I am feeling really good about my results and am very happy. I am also so relieved and so grateful to all my amazing teachers.”

Tiyana’s dad added: “Both our children have enjoyed great experiences at Northwood College. Since starting here, neither of my daughters have ever woken up and said they don’t want to go to school!”

Sophie (AAA) will study Dentistry at Newcastle University and commented: “I am really proud of myself and pleased that all the hard work has paid off! I will miss my teachers and their amazing support. I will definitely be back to enjoy the many music concerts put on by our amazing music department.”

Sophie’s dad added: “NWC has been a second home for Sophie since she started in Nursery. I’d like to extend a huge thank you to the music department for all their support with Sophie playing four instruments!”

Aarika (A*A*B) will study Law at King’s College London and commented: “Thank you to Northwood College, my family and all my friends. This school’s community and sisterhood helped me to where I am today and I am so grateful.”

Aarika’s mum: I’m very proud! Aarika was dedicated and put her heart and soul into it. She encapsulates what NWC is all about. Her time at NWC has been a long journey, but a great journey!”

Fatema (ABB) will study Politics & International Relations at Nottingham University and commented: “I am really pleased with my results and am very happy and relieved right now.”

Fatema’s dad added: “NWC is an amazing school and has been wonderful for our daughter. The NWC family has made Fatema and all of us feel so welcome! It is a beautiful college for our beautiful daughter and is a real home away from home, I am so grateful.”

Rhea (A*AA) will study Law at Warwick University and said: “I am so happy and relieved. I would like to thank all my teachers and everyone at Northwood College who have supported me here since I joined in Year 7. I am so looking forward to going to University but a little bit nervous. Eventually I would like to be a solicitor.

I really want to thank my mum for always being there for me and for being my biggest supporter, and for dealing with all the exam stress!”

Rhea’s mum added: “I am super proud of Rhea and I am so grateful for all the support her teachers have always given her, it has made such a huge difference to her confidence and this outcome.”

Sofia (AAB) will study International Management & Modern Languages at Bath University and commented: “I am very happy with my results and am going to miss this place so much. Looking back to the start of the year, I couldn’t have imagined getting these results so I am really pleased I’ve done so much better than I expected.”

Sofia’s mum said: “I am so proud of Sofia and how hard she has worked. Northwood College has played such a huge role in this success and we will always be grateful for the support and guidance her teachers have always given her.”

Sofia’s dad said: “I am very proud of Sofia and would like to give many thanks to all her teachers and the school.”

Zahra (AAA) will study Pharmaceuticals at UCL and commented: “My teachers have honestly been so amazing and I am so grateful to them all.”

Zahra parents added: “We’re really excited about Zahra’s results and very proud too! Zahra has been here since Year 7 and it has been an amazing choice choosing NWC. As soon as Zahra saw the fantastic library on her first visit, her mind was made up!”

Fatema Zahra (AAB) will study Dental Therapy at King’s College London and commented: “My mum came here as did my aunties and cousins, so NWC was the only choice for me and I am so grateful to everyone here.”

Fatema’s Dad added: “We are very grateful to everyone at the school for all the support they have always shown Fatema throughout her time here.”

Shreya (AAA) will study Classics at UCL and commented: “I am beyond pleased! I’m grateful to my teachers who have offered me so much support, even offering extra sessions and helping any way they can.”

Shreya’s mum added: We’re so grateful for the support Shreya has had during her time at NWC and it’s been a joy seeing her confidence bloom.

Shreya’s dad said: We chose NWC due to the pastoral care and we’re so happy we did. Shreya has enjoyed a seamless transition through each year group.

Tamanna (AAA) will study Global Sustainable Development at Warwick University and commented: “I’m so happy with these results, I’ve worked really hard, but I couldn’t have done it without my teachers and the school, so I’d like to thank them as well.’

Tamanna’s parents added: “We are incredibly proud of Tamanna – she has achieved a fantastic result. She has been at NWC since reception and the school has done an amazing job in supporting and nurturing her throughout her school life.”
