Carnegie Book Awards Trip
Northwood College’s Carnegie book group attended the annual Hillingdon, Carnegie Awards Event 2024 at St Helen’s School on 11 June.
Our Y7, Y8 and Y9 students seized the opportunity to meet other Carnegie reading groups (St Helen’s, Merchant Taylors and John Lyon), to discuss the eight shortlisted titles, sharing their thoughts and feelings about some of the best fiction of the year.

They separated into groups based around the eight books and presented their case to the audience of why their shortlisted title should be this year’s winning book!
The students had the chance to vote for their favourite title at the end of the presentation, with ‘Crossing the Line’ by Tia Fisher winning the coveted award for 2024.
