Careers & Higher Education Evening

We were delighted to welcome representatives from the world of work, along with a number of leading universities, to our recent event.  There was an excited buzz in the PAC as girls from Years 9 – 13, along with boys from Merchant Taylor’s School, visited the stands to find out about careers in law, architecture, management consultancy, healthcare, engineering, theatrical management and the police force.  The universities also had a busy evening, with many students and parents enjoying the opportunity to discuss possible courses and entry requirements and it was standing room only in many of the talks, on careers in the law, actuarial science, dentistry, IT and engineering.

Our visiting speakers were impressed by the maturity and sophistication of the questions they were asked by the students, all of whom took advantage of being able to talk to representatives from these high profile professions.  Indeed, many girls were proactive in securing contacts for the future that will provide them with an even better insight into the fields of work they are considering.

Ms Thompson, Head of Careers & UCAS, would like to thank all the delegates who gave up their time to attend the event, as well as the many girls and Northwood College staff who assisted with the smooth running of the evening.
