Award-winning Textile Artist Teaches Year 9 girls Embellishment Techniques
Award-winning Textile Artist Jessica Grady, ran the Textiles Workshop for the Y9 girls in the Makerspace on Monday 17 June.
After experiencing her excellent workshops last year at the Knitting and Stitching show, we jumped at the opportunity to secure her workshop this year.
Grady is an exhibiting member of Prism and a guest artist in Art Textiles Made in Britain’s exhibition. She also holds a First Class Degree in Textile Design from Norwich University.
The y9 GCSE textile hopefuls learnt Floral mixed media embellishment techniques and created a floral and nature inspired design using recycled fabric, sponges, and parcel ribbon all presented in an embroidery hoop.
What a great start to their GCSE course! The final outcomes were fantastic.
