House Music

This year’s Inter-House Music competition provided a delightful week of music-making of a wide variety. Monday and Tuesday witnessed fiercely competitive first round heats to see who would make it through to the finals.

We welcomed the professional composer and conductor, Will Carslake, in to school on Wednesday to adjudicate the final competition. Will thoroughly enjoyed his visit to Northwood College for Girls although he had some very hard choices to make. The Senior Wind and Brass class in particular featured stunning performances.

Notable performances were by Shephali Nathwani and Aaliyah and Aatreyie Kapoor; and Will made a special mention to Zara Siddiqi. The climax of the event was the House Choirs’ various performances of “Songs of the Sixties” won this year by an extremely impressive Endsleigh-Pankhurst with their brilliant rendition of ‘RESPECT’, backed up by an all-star horn section with Tia on the drum kit.

A big ‘congratulations’ goes to each and every one of our talented competitors and also to the House Captains for their hard work in organising the entries
