This half term the girls in Nursery have been looking at ‘people who help them’. In our first week we looked at the postman and made a post office in the corner of our classroom.
The girls have loved weighing, posting and role playing as postal workers. In week two we investigated the roles of doctors and nurses. Our own Nurse Hickson came in and spoke to the class about her job. In our outdoor explorer session the class made medicines from water, mud and any natural products they could get their little hands on! Last week focussed on the dentist and we were very fortunate that one of our parents came in to talk about her work in this field.
I hid little laminated teeth templates in the forest area and, having made wands and received a letter from the Queen of the Tooth Fairies, the girls went on an exploring session to find the missing teeth. They loved it. This week is all about the fireman and we were lucky enough to welcome to school the local fire brigade and their fire engine!
