Year 2 Speech and Drama Recital
Friday 24 April saw a wonderful Speech and Drama recital by Year 2 girls in front of their parents in Vincent Hall.
Showing the packed hall three different warm up games: ‘Yes, your Majesty’, ‘French Bean’ and ‘The Grand Old Duke of York’; the girls really enjoyed demonstrating their different voices and their abilities at memory games and listening. They went on to perform poems, some girls performing in small groups of two or three and some individually.
It was a remarkable performance by all the girls. Aged just six or seven years old, our girls were confident, articulate, enthusiastic and managed to recite their poems with excellent projection and comprehension; it was a pleasure to see.
The girls will now enter the poems for a LAMDA examination in June and will have the option of continuing Speech and Drama next year as an after school activity on a Monday from 4-5pm. Our thanks go to the Speech and Drama teachers for preparing and motivating the girls and to the girls themselves for an outstanding performance.
