Going for Green!

Whole School

Congratulations go to our hard working Eco Committee as the school has been awarded the Eco Schools Green Flag Award - their equivalent of a gold award.

The assessor from Keep Britain tidy visited the school on Tuesday 9 May and spoke with Eco Champions from both Junior and Senior schools and our outgoing Eco Prefect, Shalini Mathyalakan.

The Eco Champions then took the assessor on a tour of the school, pointing out eco projects and information and answering any questions the assessor had (when she could manage to get a word in as the Eco Champions were keen to show off all of their achievements!).

Mr Cottrell, Mr Rogoff, Mrs Talbot and Mrs Annetts accompanied the assessor and Eco Champions on the tour and answered any further questions the assessor had about the school’s commitment to the eco agenda.  The assessor finished her visit by looking through our ‘portfolio of evidence’ – policies, minutes of meetings etc. which can be found on Firefly.

We were delighted when Miss Pain announced the news of the award during Senior school assembly on Monday 15 May.  Well done Eco Champions!!  We will now continue the good work by working on the action points from the assessor’s report and working towards our re-assessment in two years’ time.
