Women of the Future Ambassadors

Sixth Form

On Thursday 27 April, five girls from Year 12 were invited to a prestigious event at the Cabinet Office run by the Women of the Future programme.

This programme allows young girls with interests in fields that are male dominated to network and build relationships with other women who have excelled in their careers.

The evening was based around the public sector and the different routes into the Civil Service.  After hearing a series of inspiring talks, including one from the Australian High Commissioner for the United Kingdom, we were able to mingle with women working at the top of their fields.  The event was very useful to us all; we learnt about jobs we did not even know existed and degrees that would help us get into that field.

Overall the evening was a great success and we all succeeded in attaining business cards and emails from many of the professional women happy to mentor us.
