Ski Trip to Jasper, Canada
During the Easter break, girls from Years 8-12 went on a ski trip to Jasper, Canada.
The trip consisted of 6 days skiing, with a variety of fun evening activities and an exciting visit to a shopping mall on the last day. The trip was a fantastic experience for novice to experienced skiers and was thoroughly enjoyed by all who went.
Throughout our time in Canada, we all took part in ski lessons on the local mountain of Marmot Basin, skiing for a total of 5 hours a day. Depending on ability, we were split into groups so we could gain the most from the experience. Having the week to ski enabled us all to gain more confidence and skill in the sport. It was an exhausting, yet incredible, week and we all would 100% go again.
Each evening we had a fun activity planned, from a trip to the cinema to watch ‘Beauty and the Beast’, to a scavenger hunt in a hotel where Marilyn Monroe, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth had stayed. All the activities were entertaining and enjoyable. Others included a lesson on how to make the best ‘smore’, swimming and a trip to watch a local ice hockey game. These activities gave the different year groups the opportunity to interact and make friends while enjoying their holiday in the snow.
Girls have described the ski trip to Jasper as: ‘a fantastic opportunity in which all should try to take part’, ‘a way to have fun learning new skills while being with your friends’ and ‘a way to have a holiday in the snow’.
Thank you to Mrs Rees for organising the trip, as well as Miss Simpson, Miss Ambridge and Mrs Johnson for accompanying us all on such a fantastic experience.
