‘Lunch & Learn’ launched in Sixth Form
‘Lunch and Learn’ has been launched as a new initiative to enrich the learning of Sixth Formers studying Economics and Business A levels or those interested in studying related areas at degree level.
A speaker is invited to talk to the thirty-five girls on various subject-related issues such as marketing, enterprise, finance, human resources, international trade, business ownership, and macroeconomic policy.
Mr Aiyangar, parent of Jyotsna in Year 12, was the first speaker and he gave an informative talk about the daily use of Economics in the financial sector. As an experienced banker, he impressed the Sixth Formers with his strong technical knowledge of macroeconomic policy. It was an eye opener to many just how much of what is being covered in lessons is useful in real life! It also made them aware of the range of career opportunities available after university.
We look forward to our second speaker on Thursday 9 February when Mr Mehta of Sony Pictures will be talking about Technological change in the media and creative industries.
Mr J Bennett, Head of Economics and Business
