On Friday 11 March 2016, the Year 4 and 6 cross country team travelled to Aldenham School to take part in an Independent Schools Cross Country Event.

It was a beautiful day and the girls were extremely excited about the event.

There were seven teams in total for each year group with some very experienced runners representing each school. Northwood College were not fazed by the scale of the event and the girls could not wait to start the race. It was a new course and it was the first junior cross country event that Northwood College has entered so we were all very excited to see how well we could do.

In both age groups the girls ran very well, with the Year 4 team finishing all in the top 20 and the Year 6 team finishing in the top 15. Isha Patel was the first Northwood College pupil to finish the race in the Year 4 age group coming in 6th place.

In the Year 6 race, Aasiyah Alloo was the fastest girl in the Northwood College team and also finished in 6th place. Overall, both age groups came 2nd in the competition.

This is a fantastic achievement and has also helped Year 6 with their charity progress to travel the distance from Northwood College to Tanzania.

The Year 4 team consisted of: Laila Chaudhry, Ruhi Visaria, Yomna Elnikety, Zara Zealey, Isha Patel and Hannah Belay.

The Year 6 team consisted of: Keya Patel, Faaizah Ahmad, Monica Patel, Aasiyah Alloo, Asiyah Merali Dewji and Aleena Dewji
