Thank you for your interest in working at Northwood College for Girls.

Northwood College for Girls is an independent, academically selective day school for approximately 840 girls aged 3-18.  Located in North West London, most of our pupils come from professional or business backgrounds with a wide catchment area which encompasses parts of the North London, Buckinghamshire and Middlesex community.

The school is part of the Girls' Day School Trust and offers:

There is also the opportunity of reduced tuition fees at Northwood College for daughters of established staff (subject to the usual entry requirements).

All adults employed at the school are cleared for working with children and young people through the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Teachers are expected to have a suitable degree and teaching qualification, unless their experience and further training makes them qualified to teach a subject they did not initially study to degree level.

Head of Science

For September 2018

We are looking forward to appointing a dynamic and inspirational teacher to lead our Science Department through the next phase of our strategic plan, which includes the design and build of a new STEM facility.

The Science Department is currently very well resourced in modern labs but we are looking forward to moving into a state of the art building, and the Head of Science would play a key role in the design of the building and the development of STEM throughout the whole school. 

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate not only to demonstrate their leadership skills within a school environment, but more widely across the GDST network of 26 schools.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious teacher to lead the development and delivery of the curriculum in the Junior School so that all pupils receive a high quality, broad and balanced education.  This is an excellent opportunity for an inspiring, well-qualified and caring applicant who enjoys motivating and stimulating young children.  Applicants should be willing to teach across the Key Stage 2 curriculum.

All teachers in school are expected to play a full part in our extra-curricular programme and join in fully with school life.  Please state curriculum interests on the application.

We require an enthusiastic, experienced part-time teacher to join this strong, successful and well-resourced department.  History is a popular subject up to A Leve.  The post will involve teaching History from KS3 up to A Level.  The ability to teach Politics would be an advantage.  This post is for a minimum of two terms, maximum of three to cover a maternity absence.
